No pares, síguele.

Mexicali, B.C. 1984.

Fotos

Fotos, negativos, transparencias, blanco y negro.

He recordado

Lo mucho que me gusta escribir.

Just one breath

good read. I am really finding myself lost a little when I re-read a poem..because almost always means something different to me. Estar perdida no es algo malo.

" Meditation may take one out of the world, but it also puts one totally into it. Poems are a bit like this too. The experience of a poem gives both distance and involvement: one is closer and farther at the same time. "

cambios

No duermo. Solo sigo instrucciones:

No podrían juntarse.

cerquísima pero s i n t o c a r t e .

No me toques.

{Hoy supongamos que existe el éter}

Are you ready?

Viaje

El viaje decisivo

Hoy me hice mucho daño.
Me sentí mal.
Me sentí sola.

Me repudié.
Me desprecié.
Me hice mucho daño. Hoy hice eso.

Me, me, me, me... Todo yo a mí misma. Debo dejar de prestarme tanta atención.

mountain, im alive.

You could sum the meaning of life into big moments like getting your dream job, having kids, etc, (if that is in your personal list). but I think the meaning of life can be found in the smaller moments like riding your bike through the city, seeing your favorite movie for the first time, taking a hot shower after a long day. Those moments for me, even though they’re not always memorable, remind me I’m alive and I think that’s what’s most important during our time here. During my time at this journey. At the top of this mountain.

fuego

this week finding

“Poetry can break open locked chambers of possibility, restore numbed zones to feeling, recharge desire,” Adrienne Rich wrote in contemplating the cultural power of poetry. But what is a poem, really, and what exactly is its use?

Every once in a while, you stumble upon something so lovely, so unpretentiously beautiful and quietly profound, that you feel like the lungs of your soul have been pumped with a mighty gasp of Alpine air. This Is a Poem That Heals Fish(public library) is one such vitalizing gasp of loveliness — a lyrical picture-book that offers a playful and penetrating answer to the question of what a poem is and what it does. And as it does that, it shines a sidewise gleam on the larger question of what we most hunger for in life and how we give shape to those deepest longings.

Written by the French poet, novelist, and dramatist Jean-Pierre Simeón, translated into English by Enchanted Lion Books founder Claudia Zoe Bedrick (the feat of translation which the Nobel-winning Polish poet Wisława Szymborskahad in mind when she spoke of “that rare miracle when a translation stops being a translation and becomes … a second original”), and illustrated by the inimitable Olivier Tallec, this poetic and philosophical tale follows young Arthur as he tries to salve his beloved red fish Leon’s affliction of boredom.

Beautiful just beautiful poem/story. And I am so glad I have found it.

lately

It’s probably because the only people I’ve interacted with the last 2 days (minus all clients and crisis) is Blake yesterday morning and but my heart aches. I feel lonely, again. Like I said yesterday, I just want to 'skip it all.' I don’t think I have the heart to date. even though im free from ghosts. I still try to alter myself to seem better to whomever I’m talking to out of fear that if I show all of my true colors they won’t like me. Or, I do the completely opposite: nothing. I think I really not even  trying to show the best version of myself. The reality is that i have been so out of this game that I don't even know what is dating about, really.

I just want to be myself.

I just feel like my authentic self, the person I love so dearly, won’t be loved by anyone else. I don’t apologize for who I am and maybe that’s a turn off.
but I'm not sure if I'm giving people the chance to, know me. I’m proud of myself and my story, but that does not seem to translate well when I'm engaging, connecting with dates. I don't have an answer for this. but it concerns me, a little. not that much. It's too late for me to be concerned about that. I was telling that to Blake, he said: then do it, you have to get in there. 'But I don't think I like dating,' you do, yo being lazy. That was amazing. I actually like to think of me as lazy, than having fears.

I wonder if these crisis have affected me lately more that I am aware.

I don’t know what I’m trying to say, my heart just need some extra attention lately and I need to be held.

what is saving my life..right now

It’s March 24th, almost summer (in my head).,

This isn’t an easy month——for many of us. To beat back the moodiness and how changes affected me, today I'm  sharing the things—big or small—that are saving us right now.

The idea comes from Jan and her memoir. Even though most of us can easily articulate what’s killing us, but few of us pay attention to what’s giving us life.

Once when my dear Jan E, was invited to speak at a gathering, her host told her simply, “Tell us what is saving your life right now.” She says it’s too good a question not to revisit from time to time.

This is an excerpt of my list. It’s a long list (yay!), and I’ve chosen to share the simple—though not always small—things.

Walking my dog. I wish I had 2, to give Carmela company.

Learning to make tea.

Learning to bake. Just saying this out loud makes me smile. I have never been good at the kitchen, so I think I'm mostly laughing of myself, but I been loving to Learn and make a mess so far. I don't eat sweet stuff so planning of whinti give this to has been fun.

Sunny days.

Early mornings having time to stare at myself and stretching my arms and legs in the bed, slowly, with no rush.

Visiting cafe Rebecca.

Planning my next hiking adventure.

Meditation.

The little things.

Today, thinking about this post, saves me and keeps me alive.

random thoughts

***  Is good to think about the possibilities of things, of people, or a person and the effects that person has on you.

I think is good and in some ways is really good. It's actually inspirational. as long as you don't marry with the possibilities.

***  I can't stop thinking about how the water transforms my mood. The water running in between my body and in that rhythm the rhythm running in between my thoughts becomes "simpler" lighter, less threatening. I adapt as always to my circumstances and in this case the water flows organically through the waves of my mood. I work with my mood now as a partner not against it.

I am not moody today. such a great change.

***   I've been writing lately about water. and nothing that I read afterwards written makes sense. I just feel the need  to conect to it, again. I guess the water Itself fits the purpose. that's the answer without ends.

***   "I don't date that much or that well."
the moment I heard myself answering that I realized what I really meant. I want to scared them away.

cartas

I've always like tulips. I love seeing them born and grow. But I think that their final fragile stage are definitely my favorite.

This morning I woke up to this. The tulips that I gave to myself almost 10 days ago are dying, and this is somewhat inspiring. I am somewhat inspired.

stillness

still

I said to my soul, be still, and wait without hope
For hope would be hope for the wrong thing; wait without love
For love would be love of the wrong thing; there is yet faith
But the faith and the love and the hope are all in the waiting.
Wait without thought, for you are not ready for thought:
So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.

T.S. Elliot

I said to my soul, be still.

The ide of grounding has been somewhat abstract to me, until this last couple of years. As I found myself really reaching limits that I was not able to continue pushing, I know I needed a change. I began doing things intentionally slowly, taking my time making deductions, taking the time for me. I have found myself struggling with this practice. But the more I remind others how important this is, the most it's helpful for me. It is like a healing in circles. Both ways. I heal you and heal me. Without knowing. Intention, pace, and grounding can really save me from  monsters of the past.

I continue grounding by putting these thoughts in this no longer blank page. I am not alone if I'm able to vomit it our if chest.

Eliot is absolutely right. The stillness needed to come first: the stopping, and breathing, and listening. The undoing. Then hope: the hard job of replacing the old tapes with newer, optimistic ones and aspiring for a life that is more manageable, less distracted and scattered. And then faith. Believing in me, in others, in powers of change and community that can deliver me to solid earth where I can begin to think, consider, cry, and heal. And ultimately, to dance.

under the starts

today

such a beautiful day. I have been enjoying the swings of my mood fluctuate from all or nothing and just before my last session I was able to find the "in between." It has been only for few seconds.. but I know that it exist.

Crisis week. and my clients were safe by Friday.

I am safe on Friday.

I am going dancing under the starts on Friday.

I am having a long walk through the port and crash in upstairs crow.

I will think about how happy I am and not wondering why. I will listen to my friend, deeply. I do not feel like sharing much.

I just want to be still. I hope my eyes can express that.

Im saying yes to everything this Friday.

Im not sure what changed and how the mood is saying yes. But I love saying yes, and Friday.
